Cyprus

While Cyprus law provides for an independent external evaluator who is defined as the equivalent of the National Rapporteur, Cyprus has not yet appointed an independent external evaluator. Since 2014, the competencies of the National Rapporteur or equivalent mechanism have been exercised by the Multidisciplinary Coordinating Group (MCG), that de facto fulfills the same function as an equivalent mechanism. The Multidisciplinary Coordinating Group is chaired by the National Coordinator, a function held by the Minister of Interior. Members of the MCG include representatives from all competent ministries and non-governmental agencies.
